Tuner required?

Hi all. I just spoke to the staff at themustangshop, and he tells me that for an 02 V6 i do not need to run a tune for an exhaust change (original cats will be left on), CAI install or an underdrive pulley. Can anyone comment on this?

Thanks!

Will you be running a catback or axle back exhaust? What CAI are you thinking of?

cheers

On an 02 it should not be required based onwhat info you've provided, the 05+ ones are a little finicky with a CAI.

The term axle back doesn't apply to the pre-S197's, as the mufflers are before the axle.

Thanks guys. The exhaust i'll probably use is off am 02 mustang gt. I will be chopping at the existing Y and running straight back, no H or X. As for the CAI, i had a couple in mind. I was thinking of a BBK but i've heard alot of people say that's really not necessary since a dropin will work as well. I'll have top ponder that a bit more i guess ;-).

If you don't change the MAF with the cold air, I think you will likely be fine.
