I was looking at getting the 87, 91 performance and 91 torque tunes for $115. Is anyone running their tunes. Chime in and let me know your experiences and if it is worth it.
We do have very good tuners around these parts but I just don't think I have enough supporting power mods to justify paying 400-500 for a tune yet. Cheers Last edited by kaisoboy : 07-17-2008 at 8:32 AM. |

kaisoboy, Doug at Bamachips is a very reputable tuner. I'm running his 93 Torq and 93 Race tunes for my Predator. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again. Cool thing about Doug too is that he will send you an updated tune if you add any performance mods say like gears, charge motion delete plates, LT headers....etc. However, he won't make any tunes if you have a supercharger. These specificly have to have a custom dyno tune. Hope this helps you make up your mind. Good luck.

Did you need to have your tune tweaked. I am just running the 87 performance but will be running his 91 race soon. I got his 87 performance 91 torque and 91 race and if I want to run 93 he said to add 2* to the 4k to 7k table on the torque tune. I have noticed the fuel trims are a little off. cheers |

The only thing I tweaked on my 93 Race tune was adding 1* to the global spark advance to incorporate my 94 octang fuel. Other than that, his tune is just perfect.

In Burnaby you are similar to sea level as Alabama so the tunes should be perfect. I am getting the car Dyno'd next month so I can see what my AFR is doing to see whether I need to send the dyno graph to Doug to tweak the tune. I probably need to let the car learn the tune a little longer but I do agree with you. Even the 87 performance has woken up this car. I can't wait to try the 91 race.

I just installed his 91 race tune. I am very impressed. I have a C&L street cai with a predator. I have tried the C&L tune and was quite pleased; I tried the 93 C&L tune with a tank of 91 octane and VP octane booster (the good stuff) and was disappointed...it seemed "flat" until 4000 rpm or so and my 1/4 mile times dropped a couple of tenths for the next 5 runs before i put back in the C&L 91.
Next race is aug 8th...can't wait to try it out. |

I have a 91 performance, torque and race tune from BamaChips and I am seeking advice as to how that will work at the 3800 foot above sea level Calgary track. I have emailed Doug for tweaking advice but have yet to get a response. Anyone out there have any ideas?

You should be good to go. The only thing that concerns me is AFR at WOT. I am heading up to Red Deer with the SVTOA guys in the middle of august for a dyno session and will have the guys put a sniffer on the tail pipe so I can get an idea of what AFR I am commanding to see if I need to get Doug to tweek the tune. I talked with Doug the other day and he said to have them plot my RPM vs AFR and if the AFR needs tweeking to send him the plot and he will tweek it.
cheers |

Well after this last Friday (my first trip to the track) I have to say I ran less than I expected. I am having a shifting issue with the race tune and I will have to get in touch with them on Monday.

16.588 was the first run then 16.246 and finally a 16.052 before I changed to another tune. I ran yesterday with the race tune again and still not good so I changed to the 93 Airaid Firm Shift tune that was canned on the Diablo and got a much better feel and times from that. |

I'd get with Doug, he should be able to make some adjustments.
