i people im bran new just joined yesterday... i need coaching here wants to do basic mods dont really know what to do first.... i was thinking of cai,xcal3,trottle body spacer and underdrive pulley... am i jumpin the gun here is this right
need help |

imo ,i would start with cat back exhaust , cai. as for the tuner on the newer stangs im not sure if there is big gains to be made there or not. there are a couple of gurus that should be along to help more with your question.

From what I've heard, a CAI and SCT Xcal or Diablosport tune together should give you about 30 horsepower. I have not done this yet as I'm reluctant to make my car require premium fuel at the moment with the prices. But to get the better gains tune wise I think you have to up the octane.
I chose to do the FRPP handling package and a solid set of Axle-Back Mufflers first. While I realise these are not power adding mods, I couldn't take looking at the back of my car sitting up so high anymore. Drove me crazy. Those tiny stock exhaust tips and tame sound also got on my nerves. For my car, I decided to get the pricey stuff out of the way such as the suspension this year and wheels/tires next spring. Then I'll start to add horsepower. This is of course, just my order of doing things.

Well... The CAI I would do first they all are around the 30 hp mark with a tuner and around 18 for the non tune needed ones (AFE,K&N etc) those would be the only ones I trust for no tune. The TB spacer I wouldn't waste my money on.. UDP's did make a difference but hp gains are very small 5-8 hp at most. As for pipes the gains from the axle backs are again very small so your really going for sound something that is a free flow would be best you can also think about going to a x pipe over the factory H that again will give you a little added hp (5-10) and a diff sound. The ones that really makes a nice diff in driving the car is a shifter ,springs and the CAI with tune. Hope this helps

Cold air, gears, pullies, x-pipe, and a Predator are all helpful initial modifications. You will have to make up your mind if you are going to stick with N/A or go supercharged. If a supercharger is in your future, leave the underdrive pullies out.
