Ford Officially Releases 2011 GT500 Info

Today, Feb 08th, Ford took the cover off the 2011 GT500. So to fine tune the rumours:

Weight reduction 120lbs.
HP increased to 550hp.
Improved structural integrity for convertible.
Peformance Pack also includes new version of Eagle F1 Supercar tires, and further reduces weight with ligher wheels.
Handling improvements net an improvement of 3 seconds on Ford's 2.3 mile test track. Convertible now closer in handling to coupe than before.

I don't mind the narrow stripes, the rear end is growing on me (slowly) but you can't dislike the way it sounds.

Looks like they'll do anything to reduce the weight.

I guess they have to justify the 120lb loss somehow. Lighter engine, lighter wheels, thinner stripes...
