Finally put insurance and plates on the car this weekend, since I only drive the car for 4-5 mths a year, I found out I would be able to insure it as a classic/hobby car.
Only cost me $148.00 for the year ( I paid just under $1000.00 last year). There are a couple of stipulations though, it must not be a daily driver, you must not put on more that 5000 kms in a year, and you must have it appraised (about $150.00 here). I know that this is not for everyone, but it sure works for me. If anyone in Alberta is interested in this insurance I can give you more info. PS..I am not an Insurance broker! |

Wow great deal. 5000km in a year really isn't that much though, even if it is only 5 months.

Right-they won't be able to tell....until you happen have a claim and they check the mileage.........then you are on shaky ground with your insurer as they wish you luck and bid you a fond farewell!!!! (And refuse to pay the claim...) Depends on how lucky you're feelin I guess!!! |

I would be intrested, more info please.
You know one thing that I always found strange. I can buy one month of car insurance, yet you have to get a year of bike insurance. |

Sorry I havn't replied to the thread as I took a couple of days off to celebrate Canada Days
. Your best bet is to go to legendsinsurance.com and check it out. There are links there to the insurance broker. This is only available in Alberta right now, as far as I know mods are covered as they would be included in the appraisal, I'm pretty sure that if your using the car at the track you would not be covered, lol. |
