I'd like to hear how other people store their cars over the winter. Do you do anything special or just park it in the garage?

I like to leave my tires on the ground, as opposed to blocking the car up ovr winter, as the suspension is not designed to be unloaded for long periods of time and that can lead to premature bushing and strut/shock failure. I like to roll the car a few feet forward and back over the course of the winter so as not to develop flat spots. Over inflating the tires helps also.
I park mine with a near empty tank and dont bother with stabilizer, but if you are parking outside where moisture is more of an issure, a full tank is a good idea to prevent rust forming inside the tank. So I clean the car well, throw a last coat of wax on her, put on my winter car cover and cocoon my car port. Inside the car I vacume and dust and then lay a bar of irish spring soap on a plate in the ront foot wells and the back seat and hatch (I usually cut the soap bar in halfs). They help absorb moisure and also leaving your car spring fresh ![]() I don't bother changing the oil before winter as I do it before I drive the car in spring to get rid of any moisture. I used to start my car once a week as a ritual over winter, but I think the hard cold starts of winter are never a good idea so this winter i'm just going to let it sit and just prime the oil pump with a drill before I start it in the spring. I may prime it a few times over winter - i dunno. Come spring time I service the brakes checkl the tires for pressure, change the oil and prime it then fill the tank up with some 92 octane and she's ready to race.

Usually I put it indoors and run the most of the time block heater because it hits some very cold temps here in Edmonton. I fill the tank before storage and I disconnect the battery to prevent the clock from draining it dead. I sometimes will put a trickle charger on it for a few days and once a month try to run it up to operating temperature then for go a quick drive, weather permitting to "stretch" it's legs...

Get that water out of there ASAP after the race on saturday Danny its getting close to freezing at night already and you can do a lot of dammage if the block or rad snap freeze.
