Hi Guys,
Nice to see a canadian site for us Mustang fans. I drive a 1990 5.0 Notch. I've had it since June. I've wanted one of these since seeing the older kids have them in High School. Now that I've got a good job I got one as soon as I could. I'm actually going to the tuners today for a re-tune. When I bought the car the s/c setup was half done and done poorly so I've spent the summer slowly learning about the whole system and getting it right. Now I'm out of money and the end of summer is near...Hahaha! I went for a tune 1 month ago and we ran in to an issue with what we think was the injectors. It kept getting lean aroung 5000rpm and there was nothing we could do. We bumped fuel pressure and it richened up until the same point. It has a brand new in tank 255lph pump so we narrowed it down to the injectors. I just put in some 42lb/hr injectors, fresh plugs and fuel filter so hopefully we can wrap it up today so I can drive my car! Haha! It's getting frustrating looking at it in the garage and knowing that the snow is coming. I'll keep you guys tuned! I'm located in Calgary. Anyone heading to the International Mustang show in Edmonton this long weekend? |

Welcome to the forums man, nice to have another Fox guy on board
![]() As for your s/c setup, sounds like you've just solved your problems... hope you get at least a few weeks of driving in on her. Cheers. BTW, don't forget to get your vbgarage up... we'd all love to see your car.

Well here are the results...
310hp/324tq at the wheels.... I'm pretty happy! It's been a summer of learning and trying to figure this thing out. That's what you get when you buy a car from some kid who doesn't know a thing about it and he got a it from a guy who set it up wrong and cut corners. I was pretty bummed last time I left the dyno but today was awesome. Too bad I had to come back to work though...gotta pay for it somehow, Haha... On a side note for any mustang guys in Calgary, Techmotion is awesome for tuning. Matthew Puzey is a great guy and he really knows his stuff. He races a fast mustang (10.8 when I saw it run and that is all motor). A big thanks to Matt for all his help. |

I'll get to the VB garage at some point. But here is what I have:
1990 Notch, 5 spd, Wine Red, Full Black Interior Powerdyne (6psi, it did hit 7.2 on the dyno), Powerpipe, Trickflow Street Heat Upper and Lower, MSD 6AL, Full MAC Exhaust, O/R Pipe and Shorty Headers, 42# Injectors, 255lph pump, Lightning 90mm MAF, UPR Boostmaster Pipe and a tune from Techmotion. The car came with the s/c but the setup was fubared. I really like the idea of all motor but since I got it I may as well use it. Now it's time for brakes and suspension. I'm still on stock heads and cam so that is the big limiting factor. I'm pumped. It was so nice to be able to drive it to work this morning and not have to worry. Now I just gotta get it to the track.... Last edited by V8Notch : 08-24-2006 at 9:33 AM. |
