Search function returned no results for this...so
Years ago....looooong before the days of Mustang Canada, I was a young Mustang owner scouring the pages of Stangnet.com in search of idea's and information on how to make my car stand out from the rest... In the midst of all this, I remember reading a thread about the members, not just the cars. Besides, our cars are absolutely worthless without a driver. Let's hear a bit about our members here at Mustang Canada. 1) Where do you live, and how do you like it there? 2) What's your job, and why did you choose that profession? 3) Any family? Anyone close to you? You have a dog that you love, etc? 4) Where do you want to retire, and why? Really, add in what you want....it's just a good thing to read about other members in general, and not just what your car consists of... (yes, it's 3 in the morning in Ontario, I'm at work, and just feel creative) I'll start in a new reply...

Alright,
My name is Aaron. I'm 28, and I grew up on the east coast, joined the army at age 16 (reserves) and have progressed through 12 years now, joined the Regular forces when I graduated I live in Kingston, Ontario, after quite a few different postings, and a few tours to Afghanistan thrown into the mix. I actually don't like this city, price of housing is too high, and the extra money we spend doesn't go into the city roads, causing my Mustang to hate the city streets here at any time of year I don't live with any family, but I do have a girlfriend of 5 years, she lives in Toronto now and works at the Sick Kids Hospital's Research and Development center. She makes better money than I do.... but I won't reap these benefits until she's done paying for her schooling. We have two cats, Pickles (whom she named) and Megatron (I named this guy, and he is as ridiculous as his name would indicate) Aside from the Mustang, I own a truck that I originally bought for daily driving but have since found it quite entertaining to take off road into the mud pits. I recommend this lifestyle to anybody... I have a deep love for the west coast, and so I really hope to retire on Vancouver Island. Both of my parents grew up in Nova Scotia, but have migrated west and live there on the island now. Every time I go out there, I feel my heartrate slow down by a significant amount, it's just too relaxing and seems like the perfect place for me to finish my life off...

ok Aaron,Ill give it a go too.Im Patrick,46,and a prairie dog since day #1.Ive spent 29 years in Calgary growing up where I met my high school sweetheart Cindy(I was 17 ,she was 15).We dated others a while, and then at 21 and 19 we married in Jamaica.I have three boys,twins-21,and another-16.The twins are in college studying Social work(together, what else is new),and the youngest is fixin to teach as a profession. We moved to Medicine Hat Alberta in 91 searching for a quieter, safer place and found it here.Theres nothing like a warm summer night here,I swear. If I ever get lucky in the lotto,we'd buy a place in Tahiti(might as well be as far away from civilization as possible.).Ive had many interesting jobs including Fleet manager for a major rental company(sold 1500 cars a year),worked in the Trauma Unit of the General Hospital in Calgary before they "blowed it up real good",attained my commercial art degree from the Alberta College Of Art and Design, and finally now at the city of Medicine Hat in municipal works(the pensions great).I also own a window tint business here and DJ for weddings and parties for kicks.Ive have been a collector and restorer of cars forever, but I was particularly enamoured by British sports cars(Triumph TR6).Oh....got a dog named Rusty-15 years old and breath thatll stop a locomotive!

Alright, I'll keep this going. Al, 46, and I am a true Canadian, born in Winterpeg, spent some early years in Ottawa, then to a little town in P.Q named Lachute, then onto Sault Ste. Marie for my high school and first crack at college (heavy equipment mechanics)during all this time, I would summer in Toryburn N.B with my grandparents,so I have some fondness for many areas of the country. Back to Ottawa for a turn at Algonquin College (electro-mechanical drafting) and I now live in a great little town, Tillsonburg, which is halfway between Kitchener and London, down near Lake Erie.
I have been married for 22 years to Judy, my love and my friend. We met over a 1967 Cuda in Kitchener. We have four great kids ranging in age from 15 to 24, one going to school to be a personal support worker, one slugging in the salt mines (literally) and two in H.S. One of those is off to University next year, wants to be a dentist (thanks Dad, heres a beautiful blue Ford GT to say thanks for the support). The baby is going to own a restaurant, the kid can cook! I am proud of all of them. I have loved cars since pre-school, by six I could identify everything on the road, it was a game to keep me occupied in the car. Thanks Dad. I have owned and played with so many, that I couldn't begin to list them all. None have been perfect, but all have been fun. I currently work for CAMI Automotive, a General Motors/Suzuki joint venture in Ingersoll, ON. We build the Chevrolet Equinox,Pontiac Torrent and Suzuki XL7 CUV's. I used to own a small auto business in Kitchener, but with marriage and kids, I was talked into a paycheque and benefits (thanks again Dad). I miss the self employed life, but CAMI has been good to me, I just hope it still exists next year. SLWD mentioned the family pet, a couple of years ago, I carried my second best friend into the vet ( I actually held him up by a tree at the side of the parking lot so he could pee) Sydney was a 145 lb German Shepard, who could rip the arm off a robber, or carry a baby bunny back to Mom, but he was my buddy,RIP, last Christmas his spot was filled by Rudy, a 20 lb terror of mini schnauzer, he has personality, and he has started to win me over, but we have some differences to bridge. |

Oh well, why not.........
English, born just outside [the real] Windsor in 1963. Moved away from Home when I joined the Air force at 17 years old but never left the shores of England despite their lofty promises of a glittering globe trotting experience. Still, it was a great time and I made many good friends. Left the Air force and went to Germany to work for the European Space Agency ESOC in the Weather Satellite Ops department where we "flew" the Satellites. Stayed in the game for a long time moving up and through the industry into commercial Sat-communications companies right up to April 2007 which is when I threw the towel in and moved the family to Barrie, Ontario. Mostly kicking back at home these days whilst running a small mamma-pappa print business from the basement which wouldn't pay a mortgage to be honest but I managed to build up enough of the Green in Europe to buy our house, cars, toys etc with cash so we don’t owe “the man” a dime right now which keeps the cost of living down. I have my lazy eye open for a job but I won’t travel down to the city, I’m done with all that, so something simple and stress-free would be fine. My wife works in a local law firm and the kids are out doing God knows what. Two Dogs: 15 year old Thomas who came across from our last European address (Holland) with us and Jack, a year old Border Collie. Hobbies: Photography, Videography, Custom R/C model Making, Dreaming of a 649 win Pet Peeves: Clearing snow - Forum post whores - insincerity My Faults: Short fuse - Can not (will not) suffer fools – I accumulate too many toys – I’m Balding My Attributes: Will go to the ends of the world to help a friend out of trouble |
