Getting Heavy items shipped from the states?

I know we all hate UPS.

Will USPS or anyone else good to us Canadians ship a blower and accessories? Any recommendations? Blower would be from a private seller.

EDIT: the guy said he could put it in 2 boxes. Never thought of that haha.

I'm not sure if USPS will ship a blower. I had my S/C shipped by UPS. It only cost a couple hundred dollars for shipping o come from Texas to NS. There was 2 boxes....one was approx. 24W x 36L x 30H and the other was approx. 12w x 16L x 10H.

Word of advice.....don't label the contents as "BLOWER". That's what they had mine called and it apparently caused some confusion at the border.

Ask the seller to weigh the packages, and if it is under 66 lbs it is good to go in the mail. I have had sets of aluminum heads sent to me in the mail a couple of times and they were in seperate packages. Most guys in the states want to use ups to avoid having to drive down to the post office. I tried to get a forged crankshaft in the mail but they said no go. I used DHL and they are really good about there brokerage fee's but they will only ship air freight from the states to Canada so there is not much point in using them either. You can always use your own broker and use ups, they usually have the best freight rates to Canada but have huge brokerage fee's that seem to make up for the low cost freight service.
