Nice work Steve!! I just left clicked on my mouse, and chose "Set as background".......fit my desktop perfect. Also like the way the MC banner is under the month....think we have something here.
I'm thinking we could let the dust settle from this months MoTM, then run a similar poll for December's desktop background?? Might just be as simple as what you just did......make the pic available on the thread in calender form, as you did, and members could be free to set the pic as thier background. Anybody have any problems setting UK Pony's mock up so that it displays properly on thier desktop??? |

I agree. That looks great!
I've got to say that this will be a very nice picture to have on the desktop for the month of December. Thanks for reviving this thread and giving me another option for my desktop. John

No worries there Sonic.......shakes pretty much took care of the Spam problem so well that I packed my Spam flamethrower away!!! I'm in the process of doing some background work on this..... In the meantime, if everybody that's interested could give UK Pony's or 20gt00's mock up a shot and see how it looks, that would be helpful. I'm looking to see if it's as easy as posting it up in a thread for members to download......thanks! Mike ![]() Thanks 20gt00...... ![]() Last edited by GT4MT : 11-10-2008 at 6:55 PM. |

shouldnt really be a problem for anyone, all you have to do is centre it on a black background. I have a 24" widesceen so thats what i do with smaller wallpapers

If we make this a go, maybe we could get together all the photoshoppers together in a thread, and designate certain months to certain people. the more creativity and insite we can put into something like this the bigger success it could be. maybe even lead to a real calendar at some point.

I like that idea 20gt00 - that way no-one has a big burden on them, one or two a year per person. We have some talented people on here for sure. |

The one thing I noticed when left clicking to set as background was that the extremities of the image were cropped off. My laptop screen is a widescreen setup - all that would be required to fix this would be to keep the text away from the borders.
Edit - fixed it by setting the task bar to auto (hides & reveals as needed). Last edited by UK PONY : 11-10-2008 at 11:11 PM. |

Thanks for the patience everybody....looks like the Mustang Canada Desktop Virtual Calender is officially underway!!!
Likely there will be some fine tuning as we go along, but this will be a project for MC members, by MC members, so comments/suggestions are always welcome. From all I've seen, there is more than enough enthusiasm and talent here on MC to git 'er done. I'm going to be responsible for looking after this project. Nothing too complicated or involved.....pretty much looking to follow the MoTM format and with any luck we'll have the first month posted for December. So- to get things underway. As I said, following the established MoTM format, there will be a week open for submissions, followed by a poll to determine a monthly winner. Once a winner is determined, I'll need a volunteer to do the photoshopping of the pic into a calender format. The layout and design of the calender page will be up to the creativity of the volunteer...or, if they would like to work with the owner of the winning pic to determine how it's going to look....doesn't matter to me. Upon completion of the photoshopping, the pic will be posted and available for loading onto your desktop background, similar to what has already been done in this thread. I will now open the floor to questions!!! Last edited by GT4MT : 11-12-2008 at 5:16 AM. |

Good question smellslikewetdog...
I would say that since this is a brand new (sort of) contest/feature, that the entry's will be open to any pic of your ride you have hosted on MC in your images. Alls fair, regardless of whether or not the pic has been submitted for MoTM previously. Guess I better get something set up for submissions....... |
