My IT people at my company restrict our computers from downloading or installing screensavers. Great idea but I'd prefer the monthly calendar wallpapers instead of a screensaver.

Actually, feeding off of the virtual calendar idea, it would be nice if the previous MoTM shots could be directed into a Wallpaper page organized by month for download (at various resolutions). Little more work on the admin side, but not too terrible a task to add to the past month to the list while the next months are being loaded up.
I would think this should be restricted to contributors tho (fullsize download, but viewable by members),to keep the leeching down to a minimum. Then there could be a MoTY vote, and the winner could get a Mustang Canada Icecream cake as a prize, or a free membership for the year since they're sweet pic of their ride would be attracting more flies to the honey that is MC...

hehe, now that I think of it, its really just the virtual calendar (without numbers on the pictures
 ). Maybe I should be in marketing not IT...But it would be nice to browse through the previously voted for monthly winners for the year.

OK....seeing as I started this thread, I will stick my hand up and take a shot at this.
I'm no expert, and don't know a lot about how it all works (the different resolutions etc...), so it's a bit intimidating to come out with all guns blazing and say...OK, here's how this is gonna run. I think it would be great if the members could do this at a grass roots level without burdening the already busy administrators with requests for help. I don't think it's a case of no one being up for it UK, it's just a matter of having the know how to pull it off. From all I've seen in this poll,and in this site for that matter, is that there's no lack of enthusiasm, just a lack of direction. That's what I'm struggling with anyway.... does this help the discussion at all? Anybody feel free to contribute, 'cause I'm just winging it here...... Step one is to get the format figured out. Who knows how to size up the pics so that they're readily available to all members? Step two- get submissions and lay them out in the format as they would appear on the calender. Step three- post up the submissions for voting Step four- declare winners. From there the pics should be available to download as screen savers....heck, I just right click on the pic and then select as desktop background. Usually it works pretty good. Let the discussion continue!!! (Apologies for the long winded post, but I trying my best here!!!!)
