Ratchet made her first track appearance!

Well, I headed out to the track tonight. Got 3 runs in and was OK with it I guess. Found a couple things to improve on for next time though. My tune is set rich for some reason.... My mechanic perhaps!! Also my suspension was set up wrong, The front was set up basically full firm on the koni's and the back is at pretty much full soft. That my friend is backwards, so that didn't help either. Anyhow, I was fairly ok with at least one of the runs. My first run was a 14.5 @ 99 with a 2.34 60'.with the traction control on... DOH!! Run 2 was the best run of the night. It was a medium soft launch with a 2.1 60' for a 14.02 at 101.35. The tird launch I went at it a bit harder and broke loose big and first and second to another 2.34 60' and a 14.28 at 100.5. Overall I am ok with tonight, I know that I have to reset my tune to the original canned tune and then go from there again. Should also be able to get it to hook a bit better when i adjust the struts and shocks again. Then we'll see what happens next weekend.

I bet it was a blast just the same? The wife and were planning on getting out to the track this weekend to race each other for bragging rights, but its supposed to rain all weekend long and they cancelled all racing for the weekend here.

Nice job DMW....I'm with SLWD-13's next time out for sure. First time out with Ratchet, I'm sure there's a bit of shakedown room there...obviously you're working on pushing a bit harder (on run three) and finding that balance where you don't break loose.
Listen to me sounding like I know what I'm talking about...geesh, haven't even been out to make a run...ever. I pretty much procrastinated the summer away.....Congrats man!

Right on DMW, i like the part about we will see next weekend! Doing mods is addictive but racing your car is even more so. I would say mid 13's with traction with that mph. Wait till you bolt on a set of slicks and launch at 4500, that is almost as good as... well you get the point, congrats man....

Thanks guys. Well, time to go make those adjustments. There should be able 104 or so mph in it, from the mods I have. At least that's what I'm told anyways. Also, hooking up a bit better would be good thing.
There is also a big Langley cruise in today, so gonna have to head out and have some fun. Lots a cars and Lot's a smoke!!

Well done, Dave. I'm going out to Mission next weekend. I guess I should try it out...I know it'll be loose as hell, but WTF...give it a go, anyway.
Did you use your street tires?

Larry

Nice Job Dave, not too bad for the first time out. If either you or Larry want to use my ET streets for the next time let me know. They are on 16" rims so they should clear big brakes.

Yeah, I was on the 295/30/18's. I just redid my tune and works on the Shock/strut settings. Now I am going out for a cruise to see if I did anything, see you at the Dub Larry. Be there early!!!

Thanks J,
Like I said, I'll be out at Mission on the weekend. I'd like to see if I can hook up my car with that new Supercharger and the 4.10's....sounds like a lot to ask a 'rookie' like me...
