Picking up a new ride tomorrow.

With the gas prices what they are and the fiance getting a new job just down the highway, we decided to get a nice little commuter car. It is a Mint shape inside and out 2003 Ford Focus SE. The color is almost a mineral grey color. Has 61000km on it. It is a loaded little thing with CC and what not. Got it for a real decent price and the fiance feels a lot more comfortable in it than she did the Hyundai's and Kia's we took out for drives. Gas milage is real good as well, high 30's per gallon so it seems to fit the bill.
Now, I just have to sell the Exploder and get another thing like that for myself, no use having 2 gas guzzling beasts and I can get back to only bringing the Stang out on nice days and cruise's. Yeah. I have put about 4500 km's on it over the last 2 and a half months.

Hope you enjoy the new toy. The Focus isn't a bad little car & 61k is well below average mileage too. Is it a hatchback or the sedan?

It is the Sedan with the nice little aluminum wheels. I will enjoy it if we have no problems with it. I am absolutely sick of having issues with vehicles at the moment.

Nothing wrong with a Focus-as UKPONY mentioned 61k is nothing for mileage these days. I would expect you could go to100+k EASY without any issues. Glad to hear your fiance is enjoying it......

Nice to see you got a Ford DMW, i know i have been ranting alot on here lately about imports. I did not mean to offend you or anyone else, it is just a subject that i am very passionate about after working in the automotive manufacturing industry for many years and living near Oshawa.
A friend of mine owns a Focus and says its a great little car, actually lone sailor lives near him, his name is Scott Hrbacek. He makes some appearance items for them, his site is www.customgaugefaces.com A company i deal with sometimes, Roush Direct, was selling off all the old Roush parts for these cars not to long ago, they had a killer deal on Roush seats and other parts for these cars.

Friend of mine has one of those Ford Focus'. It's real nice car. Great mileage, sporty as hell with the 5 speed, and that thing has the room of a small pickup truck. We hauled his old washer and dryer off with it and picked up his new units at Lowe's. If I was in the market, I'd get one.

So, the Focus is in the garage. Filled up the tank and took it for a good little cruise. Cost $49 to fill it, now we'll see how many KM's I can squeeze out of it.
The thing drives pretty nice and smooth, but it is in need of a good sterio, or at least better speakers....

excellent news Dave.Speakers are such a minor issue ,that if thats the only thing laggin behind,you got a bargain! Just dont forget you still have to get Ratchet outta the parkade every once in a while ,give her a good run!

Thanks Smellydogguy, Ratchet got out for a workout today as I went into work early so I got a good safe parking spot. But I really bought the car for the fiance. So Ratchet will still get some time, just a lot less than he was getting!! Which is good. When I drive it everyday I kinda forget sometimes how much fun it is, so it will be nice to let Ratchet sit for short periods, then go out and have a blast and paint some strips.

Oh and yeah, everything else so far with the Focus is real good. I'm curious about the gas milage. Also going to do an oil change and whatnot sometime next week. So yeah, just the speakers right now, but I think that may just be a wire that has come un plugged or something. I'll look into it on the weekend if I have some time.
