Seems like quite a few of you here, I hardly see any on the roads anymore. Looks like you guys have some nice ones. My good friend is just finishing his, red on black with leather full load car. 351 roller stroked to 393 with AFR heads, Vic Jr intake with proform'd Holley, custom headers & full 3" duals front to back, TKO 600 trans, built 8.8 with detroit locker, 5 lug swap with 13" brakes, Eibach/Hotchkiss suspension and much more. Was supposed to be on the road this year but he works out of town and he got married last summer so hopefully it'll be on the road come spring.

82GT lover and former owner here!
I love em too. a part of me regrets selling mine, but after thousands in mods just to bring it up to snuff with an 87+ car I decided to cut my losses. Most agressive looking mustang ever made IMO.

I'm with 88GT...post up some pics! Having completed similar mods to my 82GT (see my VBGarage for specs) I'd be very interested in seeing some pics, especially of the engine and the headers. Is your buddy going with long tube or shorty headers? My intention was to use the Hooker super comps 6223 long tube headers for the 351, but ended up going with BBK shorties instead due to clearance problems with the Canton road race oil pan. Also, how did he compensate for the 351 being much heavier than the 302 for which the Eibach system is designed for? Sounds like your friend has got himself a real nice car there. Would love to compare notes! |

I'll point him in the direction of this site. He had Kooks longtubes made up, it's a tight squeeze but they seem to fit well. It has the same eibach sportline springs as it did with the 302, didn't seem to drop the car much more but he'd know for sure. Yours looks amazing top to bottom, his drivetrain is done but paint is a few years old now and I think he wants to redo it in the near future.
