Hi All,
Finally got my 79 Mustang 2.3 Turbo licensed and am on the road, it only took me 6 months. Here is the story: in 79 my uncle bought the car new. In 87, he moved overseas and brought it with him. Since he is getting older and not driving that much he offered to me if I wanted to pay to ship it back to Canada. After some thought I decided that I would ship it back. I picked up the vehicle in February and it has been sitting in my garage until this weekend. I was having licensing issues due to the fact that there were three errors in the VIN and the original registration. After some research it was determined that FORD had applied a 6 cylinder VIN to a 4 cylinder automatic that was actually a 4 cylinder turbo manual transmission. Since 1979, the VIN had been incorrect on all the paperwork. The error was never noticed until I shipped it back to Ontario and had it certified. It is a 4 cylinder turbo manual transmission with 75,000 original KM. All parts are original and the only modification was that orange blinkers had to be added to conform to the UK standards. It drives like I just bought it new off the lot. |

Welcome to MC 1175cmr! Great history on your Mustang....are you planning to remove those orange blinkers? Hopefully the bumper cover hasn't got any holes drilled in it.....

Welcome, quite a keeper car (and sleeper). Car looks great, if you do have holes in the bumber, maybe run some duals through the holes, but then you lose that original equip look (would need the dual tail pipe too).
Man, Vehicle licensing musta have been scratching their heads for a while on that one!
