I'm pretty much non-computer savvy, but came across this site and hopefully can glean alot of knowledge here.I basically like most cars but have 3 5.0 GT's in the garage(2 are projects)(newest one needs minor stuff)so I guess I favour the fox. I've been tinkering with cars for close to 20 years but get ready for me to annoy you with a bunch of Q's and hopefully I'll be able to contribute also!

Welcome 3-5.0!
There's plenty of information on this site for you to read up on. If what you're looking for isn't there, just ask and one of the techies will either answer your question or point you in the right direction. John

Thanks for the welcome, all cars are mostly stock.1st one is a 89 vert, auto w/tan interior and I'm in deep with this one,2nd one is a 87 T-top that I bought as a parts car for the vert but is generally decent and dont have the heart to mess up a car that turns out is better off than the other.3rd one is a 91 black on black that still has the cats and airbox on and needs what I consider minor stuff,I just put on some Cobra fan wheels whick look ok but car should be dropped a little and I cant wait to severely detail and polish it.Polishing is like a zen art form for me and one of the main reasons I bought this car.

I've never tried Zaino but I'm conviced half the battle is in the pads, those yellow lambs wool are Nasty. Generally it takes me a very very long time to do up a car. In short de-oxidize w/mothers,then 3m or Meguires fine cut swirl remover, then Meguires machine polish all done with nice cotton bonnets and then repolish again w/foam pad and wont wax as I will keep polishing over time until I can get it as good as the paint will allow.I would wax if car was parked outside or driven in rain.
