I bought an 84GT less the 5.o ltr, I have swapped the back half (springs,8.8 possi and hardware)my 2.3 skipped the belt and killed the head , Now I have to put a 5.0+ In!! I am looking for parts and saw this ad in the Fast Fords and mustangs wish book!! I really need a running core I have $500 for a 68-89 302/351windsor, I am converting a 2.3 into a 5.0 using a 5.0 GTand I would like to get a running core in it this winter and work out the bugs so I can drop the crate motor in on race day then rebuild the mock-up motor !!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!Thanx Cheers Sharlene,Kelowna B.C. leave messege 1-250-260-4197 As i am in the shop tinkering most days and evenings and I will call you asap I live half way between Kelowna and Vernon BC

I got a 302 short block that i am doing nothing with. has about 130 km on it, be great for a 347 if you are interested.

Welcome to the site, and you dont need a roll bar unless your breaking 10.99.

Hit up jegs or summit racing. They have kits for both for relitivly cheap. Also, the welding has to be done specifily. You can pick up a rule book at NHRA.com for 10 bucks.

Best of luck!

Welcome to the site, There are lot's of great people here that will help.

I would concider a 87-92 5.0L. They are very common, forged and rollerized. It would be a great start. It will bolt right into a 2.3L K member (as will any 302). Good luck and feel free to ask us lot's of questions.

Talking HI Guys and Gals

Another week has past and the shop is riddled with mini projects , a friend is selling me a good running core , out of a mustang , so I am not worring about engine stuff now , I have rerouted wires and painted the engine well with high heat black texture paint ,I think i like it??!! I have trunk mounted thbatteries and now made a custom control board out of polished checker plate aluminum, I have put the amp, temp ,and oil ,gauges , along with several assorted switches for manual elect.fan override , trick lights and so on , it has been very educational , I have accumulated some cool tools since I have started the 89 5.0 upgrade project , this summer will be interesting for sure , hope all you fellas have good luck on all your Pony Projects Peace Sharlene
