High Idle

I have a 87 lx 5.0, sometimes when my engine idles at about 1400rpm and after a long time it'll go back down to about 900rpm. The high idle seems to last longer then it takes for the engine to warm up, sometimes it can take up to 15min to idle back to normal. Also my rpms shoot up pretty high when I first start the vehicle, any ideas besides clutch fan?

Just a suggestion, I had the same thing awhile ago and it was a vacuum leak. Vacuum tree was cracked. Any other symptoms. Take care, Ben

Do you have an OBD-I diagnostic trouble code reader? That's where I would start.
