Has anybody came across any info on this install? I have a buddy in B.C. who's spoiled kid couldn't what till spring and wrecked his 2011 GT. It's all rear end and rear pass damage, plus a folded roof. most of the drive train is good, the diff is bent and drive shaft is now a banana. Don't worry the kid is OK, just a sore back, and a very sore ass. I can pick it up for a very good price ( just under 15,000). OH and my old 50cc pit scooter,(kids new ride). I'm going to look at it sunday. I will bring it home when winter is over, and do the swap next winter. that should give me lots of time to gather info. I'm sure the motor mount location is the same as a 4.6, and the loud peddel is fly by wire. I will have to fab left header for steering clearance i think. Any info would be helpful.
Keep us updated,I'm interested on finding more info on my project,$15000 seams like alot to me but I guess you get everything with it.Good luck
yeah it seems high, but as you say, I get complete car. Ford Racing sells motor for $8.000, then you need harness, alt, trans, clutch, headers, shifter, and more. price's for parts for these new stangs are very high. doing this swap peace by peace will nickel & dime you to death. this way should be less expensive. Plus I can sell a bunch of the stuff not needed, to help offset the price. this car has only 12,000 k on it.
I say go for it.It will be a sweet build.
