That is a loaded question.

Any particular model, LX, GT in hatch or notch trim? What do you mean by 'plain' black.

To answer your question in general, 'yes' certain model trims came in solid black.

I'm still unsure whether I should be focusing on the word plain or the word black in general.

FYI - letnan, that is a 2 tone black GT - the bottom cladding is either dark grey or charcoal (hard to tell from the pic).

There were plain (i.e. seats, dash, carpets, trim etc.) black interiors on the late foxbodies but finding one in good condition might be harder than you think as a lot of people like them so they get snapped up pretty quick when they show up for sale.

I guess I'm 1 of the lucky ones then. My 91 has an all black interior. No holes, tears, burns etc...

1990 was the first year for the all black interior for the Fox, that was the first option I chose when I bought my LX 5.0 hatch....it's the same interior as the GT's, on the coupes you get the "plain" black non-GT seats.

Last year I pulled the GT seats out of my LX, That Tweed type material was getting on my nerves.. They are currently sitting in my storage room in my basement. All nicely wrapped in plastic with a couple of those large silicon bags thrown in to help keep them dry. I put in a pair of 2006 GT seats. I like the fabric much more and it updates the look a little.

Im sorry to have to prove you wrong here Bud...But my '83 GT (Which is a foxbody, an early one at that) has a completly black interior, including Black leather seats, Black carpet, black dash , door handles and bezels, window cranks etc.... And Hell, even the "GT" dash emblem is black!
