Can't make the sunday event unfortunatly, but I'll be there with "turbo4banger" and anyone else that wants to tag along on the 22nd. Assuming the track isn't flooded

I'd most likely be a tag a long also... but we'll see if I can be ready by the 22nd. Definately won't be able to make it this weeked.
Would love to though, if the gates open at 8am imagine how many passes you could make!

Can I ask what is needed to allow the car to make a pass? I'm essentially bone stock, but I'm wondering if there is a set of safety devices you need to have in place to make some runs?
Thanks, Ryan |

check out missionracewaypark.com, and check out the sreet legal events, there is a rule page. if you're running street tires and aren't cracking the 13.50 mark i believe you're pretty much good to go. but check it out just in case. they'll maybe let you do a pass for curiosity's sake then tell you if you need a helmet etc. btw welcome to the site, why don't you introduce yourself in the lounge?

Make sure your battery is secure, stow any loose stuff inside the car and makes sure she's not leaking and in good mechanical shape and you are good to race. Everyone is pretty friendly at Mission, so ask lots of questions, and the other racers will help you out. Also you can always ask if there is a 1st time racers school/meeting going on. This will give you a quick orientation of the track.
If you want, come out on the 22nd and look for my car, i'll help ya get squared away ![]()

Check and check. I'll try and make it out for both this weekend, and the 22nd. The wife likes cars, so it shouldn't be too hard. Is it crazy busy at these things? Is it filled with rice, or is it a good spattering of muscle, old an new.
I can't post pics yet so you'll have to squint at the avatar picture to see what my car looks like. Ryan |

Nice lookin notch from what I can see, i'll keep an eye out for ya on the 22nd.
There's a sport compact class that on some nights is pretty huge (and horribly slow). Mustangs really dominate the street legal class, there are way more of us that anything else, but a good representation of various old and new muscle cars are always there, especially in the outlaw class. It's a great time out, lots of cars to look at in the pits, plenty of passes and time to watch the races between runs!

I've been to the track alot as my father was running the drag race team at Fox, and his close friend also ran a Top Alcohol Dragster ( Julien Motorsports, blue/white checker ). I've just never actually put my own car down a track.
Its currently setup for track racing, so it will be interesting to see how she does. |

stupid rain, probably be another month before i get down there again. oh well, i got the rad and electric fan setup done, and the car is in the vicinity of the track. on the plus side, i got to go for a rip with brandon from tya performance in langley, his car recently dynoed at 575 hp and 700, thats right SEVEN HUNDRED ft lbs of torque at the wheels. pretty good for 281 cubes, of course 19 lbs boost helps from the hellion turbo setup helps. btw thanks brandon for the fan.
