Local Dyno Tuner

Hi Gang,
I'm new here and have a question about Dyno Tuning.

Who do you use?
I have a 2007 stage 2 Roush Mustang.

I got a BBK Throttle Body & a BBK Cold Air intake that is now installed on the car.
The car runs fine but I know with a Dyno tune it would run better

i know mopac has a dyno, i don't know if they're very good at tuning. i've heard good things about kinetic in port kells.

I had my Focus Dyno'd at Kinetics when Focus BC had a dyno day there 2 years ago. Wayne was there from Brown Bros Ford and tuned a couple of cars also.

I would contact SCT and see who their authorized tuners are for Greater Van.

There seems to be a lack of really knowledgeable ford tuners in BC, but with SCT they pull from a huge Library of tunes developed by some of the best ford tuners in the world. For a simple bolt on 05+ a library tune should do just fine with minor tweaking.

There is only one trusted Tuner in BC, the guy you mentioned before. Wayne Johnson from Brown Bros Ford. I know him personally and he is the best around. He uses diablosport software so you'd need to go with that if you're not picky about using SCT which is not "far superior" as you may have or have not heard over the web. He has a huge amount of satisfied customers with wild to mild combos. Lots of high horsepower cobras and also dead nuts reliable at the same time. Diablo is every bit as good as SCT. When you get right down to it the guys that do the development have all worked together and learned from one another. Chris Johnson heads up Diablo's ford programming and is formerly of of JMSchips (one of the original autologic dealers) and Autologic was founded by Mike Westley now that guy that heads up The SCT division of superchips. Along with them many other players who were some of the 1st to hack and crack EEC IV and provide us with a means to tune our ford efi vehicles.

They are both incredably knowlegable guys. I was fortunate enough to learn from them directly as they once had an IRC channel on Undernet while they were developing and documenting fords GFUB stratagy and the early stages of the "Calibrator" which unfortunatly never quite hit the marked for EEC IV. EEC Tuner and Tweecer and before them speedbrain hit the market 1st, and shortly after EEC V became the standard and the guys started to develop that market.

Anyhow, Diablo and SCT - 2 thumbs up!

Found these guys who dyno with Diablosport software. Prices are way cheaper than what Wayne charges (to use someone else's dynojet) for his tuning. Not too sure of their quality of custom tuning though.

Hi Gang,

I got Wayne to dyno tune the car today

BBK CAI, BBK TB on - 274.8 RWHP and running very lean

Wayne used the Diablosport Predator U7145
Update # 8R05 + a few tweeks of his own

Final numbers
Chevron 92 Octane custom street tune
289.2 - RWHP
316 - Torque

Car feels like it has been freed up, not that the car was slow but acceleration feels a lot quicker now

How long did he have your car for and how much did he end up charging you?

Wayne had my car for a approx 2 hrs
Predator U7145 & Set Up $ 430
Custom Dyno Tune $ 250 (4 dyno runs)

I was very pleased with Wayne
He explained everything he was doing / trying and why.

Having a local tuner and the backing of a large company(Brown Bros Ford) behind him was more important to me than possibly saving a few bucks.

For anyone else out there looking for dyno's I've heard good things about Haney Automotive. Talk to brad... they are located beside save on foods at 227th and lougheed.
