    Favorite Cleaning Products

Hey guys, and gals, just wondering what your favorite cleaning product is.I've been using McGuires for as long as I can remember, but today I was at the local auto store and I spotted the Mother's Clay Bar. I've seen the ads and the commercials and stuff but figured it was all hype. It's not !!! I bought the kit that included the clay bar, spray detailer, and the wax. Let me tell ya, this shit is amazing !!!It took a little elbow grease, but certain imperfections that I thought were permanent, disappeared !!! It took me around 5 hours from start to finish, but it was worth it. Purrly is gleaming !!!Even the stubborn finger prints on the fenders and hood form 9 years of playing with the engine are gone. For a white car, that's worth the $26.99 that I paid for it.I give it two thumbs up,and I am now a devoted Mother's fan. Next thing I buy will be the Mother's power ball...

I've used the Mothers Clay bar with great results also - I have the powerball & it's not that great IMO, your experience may vary...lol.

As for polishes I still like Meguiars Nxt Generation but Autoglym is still my favourite by far for paintwork.
Carplan Black Wax is hard to beat for dark plastics (I don't believe it's available over here though).
T-Cut is my fave for removing swirls & scratches (also a UK product, Meguiars Scratch-X isn't bad though).
Meguiars Endurance High Gloss Tire Shine does a great job on...err..well Tires of course...lol...also other rubber items (air intake for example).
Meguiars Nxt Generation Tech Protectant is great for interior trim.
Invisible Glass cleaner is great on glass (of course) but it's foaming action is awesome for taking bugs off the car in general & does not hurt the paint at all.

Think that about covers my detailing kit aside from a selection of old toothbrushes for cleaning the grille & radiator (yes I know I'm sad..hehe), various microfibre clothes (2 for each type of polish, one to wipe on, one to wipe off), laytex gloves (cleaning tires can be messy), 2 sponges (one for the paintwork, one for cleaning tires & wheelwells), chamois leather, California Duster, California Duster Flexible Water Blade & an empty cat litter container which fits inside the bag & makes a great bucket.

Make sure you try the Mothers Showtime Instant Detailer! I bought this stuff only because my regular Meguiars instant detailer was out of stock at CTC. Boy am I glad I did, this is the best detailer I've ever used, makes my paint look like glass, and on top of that it smells like cinnamon hearts

That's the detailer that came with the kit. I couldn't figure out what the smell was for the first ten minutes or so while I was cleaning,,,lol,,,finally realized it was the cleaner,,,(after a few cold beer on a hot day,the senses are kinda messed up) :0)

All great products. I gotta try that Zaino everyone talks about above. Normally I tend to go with Origional Armour All wipes for the interior, plain jane Windex for the windows, No Touch tire spray for the tires or Armour All sponge. I've used Mothers Polish for years on my old man's '68 Chevelle for car shows with no issues so I stuck with that and use it on the S197.

+1 on Zaino. If you haven't tried it, like everything else, never hurts to give it a go. If you have the luxury of parking your Mustang all winter, your winter beater is a great test subject for any new cleaning products before committing them to your pride and joy.

Just for trivia's sake, the ammonia in plain jane Windex will destroy your window tint film (if you have it) over time. Found that out the hard way many years ago.....get the stuff that specifically states it's safe for use on tinted windows. (Windex has an Auto Formula, safe for tint, as well)

I'm actually heavily considering getting into the Zaino line for 2 reasons in particular. 1: The reviews have been nothing less than fantastic, and 2: You can apply it in direct sunlight which really benefits folks like myself who don't have a garage.

i use synwax, just bought it last week and after 1 use i think it did an awesome job. i am also going to pick up some standard clay this week and use my own detailing spray and try that on the paint. it will beat paying $30 bucks for the store bought kit.

Plus 1 on the powerball, it sucks and is just a hype product that they make millions on. Brown tripoli compound and a good cloth to do a final buff after using a tool to apply and buff works well.
