AMAC Outing Tonight @ Home Depot/Chinook

Anyone going to this outing tonight?

I'll be there.

If you plan on going, try and get there by no later than 7:00pm as the parking lot fills up rather quickly.

Don't forget your camera.

Would be nice to meet some fellow MC members.

John

I got back in late last night and the car needs a once-over but I'll try to make it. Weather looks like it will cooperate. See you there.

I will take some pics and post them.

My wife downloads them in her Photo Shop Pro and creates albums for me. Unfortunately, she doesn't share the same enthusiasm as I have with car pics (or golf course pics for that matter - still waiting for her to download my Kananaskis pics from last week).

Once she gets them downloaded and saved on our computer I'll move them to my Photobucket account and post them up.

John

I hear you. I golfed in Nanton on Monday and the drive resulted in quite an assortment of sacrificial insects on the way there and back, so she'll be needing a good shower before I head out there.

Awesome show tonight - unbelievable number of cars there of all makes. John took lots of pictures and will post them soon. (Right John?!!!) Weather was perfect too. Had to laugh though - there was a guy there with a GT rebadged to look like a GT500, Shelby emblems and all trying to sell the car as a GT500.

Near the end a guy showed up in a Tungsten V6 vert with an Eaton M90 supercharger. Nice ride and something a bit different.

Lots of guys still hanging and chatting till dark. Hope we get a few more cruise nights like that before the snow flies.

PICS John????

Well even a Shelby GT500 Fauxbra is not bad, it shows a commitment to the project. I recall seeing a picture or two of a V6 GT500 Fauxbra on the net and I thought it was a nice car. The pout GT500 front clip is probably the nicest look I have seen on the S197 chassis and heck if the owner wants to spend the cash all the power to him.

This guy hadn't changed any panels - just the vinyl, badges, and the Shelby letters. It was pretty obvious to anyone that knows anything about these cars.

Hi all.

Yes I took a few pictures from last night's event. When I got home and downloaded them the final pic count was 175. Eek!

I'll start posting these tonight as I have to move them over to my Photobucket account. I can't access Photobucket from work.

Lots of cars last night. I was busy running from one end to the next to try and capture as many as possible. I'm sure I missed a few, but captured many nice rides including the infamous GT dressed as a GT500. I drove by it on the way out to show my kids and the female owner just happened to be there as I came up to it. I asked her why the charade and she said that it was her way of being able to afford and I quote "a chick version of the GT500". Whatever!

I was so busy snapping up pics that I didn't get a picture of klaw's or mine which were parked side by side. Crap!

Anyhow, I did get a chance to snap a picture of Barb's car. Pictures don't do it justice, she's a real beauty in person. Barb did a great job restoring this little gem. About 30 minutes later, Barb came up to me and introduced herself but with all the running around I feel bad that I did not have a chance to sit down and chat. Next week Barb, I'll ask my daughter to go snap some pics instead, I'll bring an extra chair and we can sit down and talk cars. My apologies.

OK, that's all I have for the update.

Many pics coming tonight.

John

Oh well that is not quite the right way to make a Fauxbra, those are the last parts you should install, if at all (some think the badges on anything other than a Shelby is a travesty).

Oops! I don't normally like to do that, but all it takes is for the kids to say 'do it dad, we want to hear it' and well...I hate to disappoint. Come to think of it, I hope the woman with her imposter car got a good sense at what a 'real' Shelby looks, sounds and goes like.

Anyways, for the pics...I was struggling with Photobucket last night as I kept loosing the server. I started at aropund 8:00pm and got 50 uploaded in about an hour and then the troubles started. It took me over an hour to get the next 10 uploaded and by then it was time to shut down and get to bed. I'll post the first 60 tonight and then work on uploading the next 115 and hopefully posting them as well.

Take care all.

John
