Well, after finally experiencing the hottest July in Alberta in 50 years, I've taken a job in Medicine Hat just to acquire a little more heat. Just wondering who's on the site from Med. Hat? Looking forward to making some contacts.

I get down there every once in a while to race, and there are lots of Mustangs in the Hat. Show up on a friday night at the track and you will meet some of the guys. Medicine Hat Drag Race Association has the race schedule for their track.

Ha, good question! I've lived here since 1986 and have never thought about it before! But according to Tourism Alberta, Medicine Hat gets its name from:

That's impressive Barb, I was leaning towards the old style beer helmet . Isn't beer medicine?

I live in Medicine Hat as well,err...as a foot note...our city logo(slogan)"the Gas City"...hows that for a claim to fame...congers up all sorts of jokes about bad chili for lunch,by hey everybodys gotta have some sort of hook,we got gas!

Yeah, probably a few jokes about the "Gas City", but poor little village of Beaverlodge...."Home of the World's Largest Beaver!!" probably gets a few more.

Don't forget about Beaver Flat Saskatchewan. Dont think too many people live there no more. My Dad grew up there.
