Hello,
I have a clean GT 94, I consider this kit, it's approx. 50% less then a supercharger : Holley Systemax II : ![]() The price is $2399.00 U.S., I want to know if someone got it, also, for a Mustang SN95 is it require to change to hood to get more clearance? And for the installation, how many hour it can take? Francis Last edited by El docum : 08-22-2006 at 7:24 PM. |

Bonjour Francis,
The Holley Systemax kit is a nice complete kit that makes decent power, you cannot go far wrong with it, however in my oppinion the Holly heads and Cam profile are pretty weak and there are far better choices on the market. The holley intake however is arguably teh best 5.0 intake out there. Personally I would recomend the Trickflow kits. Trickflow kits are as complete as the Holley and even incluse some sweet valve covers. They make more power, and have far more potential out of the box. Quote:

Hello,
Thank's Fox Master, I will look for the Trick Flow kit, as you know in a SN95 you dont have lot of space under the hood; is not like a Fox, so I want to be sure that the kit can fit under the original hood. Francis |

The trick flow "pizza box" intakes are much lower profile than the systemax which should be a benifit to you.

To address your questions,
1: Hood clearance should not be an issue, I will look around a bit for you and make sure, but your factory strut tower brace will likely not fit that particular intake manifold. 2. As far as power goes, MM&FF magazine tested this kit within the last year if I recall, it made decent power, (I'll try to find the results) but as Fox Master said there are better kits out there. 3. As far as install time, it can really depend on the skill/experience level of the installer. I would recommend that you plan to have a 2nd vehicle onhand because sometimes these things can take awhile. If this is your daily driver, I would suggest finding a reputable performance shop to do the install. Just be sure to pick up an intake elbow ($120~ISH) so that your throttle body mounts back in the proper position, where these kits are designed for Fox cars. ![]() Another concern MAY be the cam profile itself, your computer MAY not like the change in Vacuum due to Trickflows' selected LSA (Lobe Speration Angle) and after installation you MAY require a tune to alleviate idle and driveablity problems. (A custom tune is not a bad idea after changing H/C/I anyway) I have noticed that most 94/95 owners have had best luck when changing cams to stick with something that has around 115* LSA, the Crane 2031 and the Steeda #19 were designed for just that purpose. But an important consideration when trying to use a different cam then the Kit has, is that you may not get the full potential from the combo with a mismatched cam. Don't let any of this scare you out of purchasing an engine kit. I was considering the Trickflow one myself until I did my tour and saved much more money than I expected, and then changed direction to the Kenne Bell. Just be aware that a custom tune is probably a good idea. Here is what comes with the Trickflow kit: ![]() Trickflow street engine kit Add horsepower and torque without breaking the bank with Trickflow's new engine kits. installation is what gets ya. IMO if you own a mustang you better be willing to work on it yourself. Because the modifications are limitless
