Horizontal Tail Lights vs. Vertical - Which years?

Just as the title suggests, I've seen SN-95s with both styles of taillights, which years have which taillights?

94-95 had the horizontal, and the 96-98's have the vertical.

it was one of fords ideas on how to distunguish between the 5.0's and the 4.6's. i like the verticals so much better. i have seen alot of the 5.0's with the newer style taillights though. some people have changed them over.

Mustang tailights should be horizontal, it's part of the inherent design that says "Mustang" to other road users.

I would never change out my horizontal tails for the verticals, verticals are for 4.6L's, lazy pre-PI SOHC 4.6's...

If it weren't for the 5.0L I never would have purchased a 94-98 Mustang short of a Cobra.

I for one am glad you like your car just the way it is Darren - I have horizontals on my foxes but the verticals (note I got it right this time...lol) are part of the inherent Mustang design. Not knockng your horizontals at all, if I had your car I'd leave it as ford intended (lookswise anyway).

One big drawback to horizontals is that sequentials wouldn't work, so I prefer the verticals.

^^ you could always put in a series of LEDs to achieve that John but I do like my verticals better.

Is that a mod that a lot of 94-95 owners do? Swap out the tails for the 96-98 version?
