SN-95 Mustang GT Shakes @ Idle

Ok so, when I say it shakes I mean it really shakes, and it's not pretty,
this morning when I was leaving my house to take my mom to work
my car started fine but shook like crazy!! As I started to roll easing out
the clutch I could feel my car chugging and boom it finally died off.
So I rolled it back into place and thats where it sits.

My question is has anyone experienced a really shakey 5.0L HO EFI?
What was your problem and what was needing to be replaced/service.
Could a weak alternator be the problem causing this?
My Battery Voltage will drop every now and again as well.

I was told it was injectors that needed to be replaced so I did, and it still shakes, now I'm being told it "might be" harmonic balancer or flywheel issues...
But it even's out after 1000rpm, I need to know ASAP what might be causing this problem, so that I can fix it and get going.

Thanks In Advance.

Welcome to the site! Hopefully you get some good suggestions here. When you get a minute drop by the Introductions thread and make it official.

My thought would be ignition. I've seen bad shakes from misfires caused by bad plug wires etc.

By the way, what part of Calgary are you in?

Well I just ran a test on the plugs/wires and some aren't sparking really good,
but for the most part they might need to be re-gapped.
Thanks for the welcoming, and yes I should drop by and introduce myself,
I am in the North East.

fuel pump or clogged fuel filter? Always check the cheapest most obvious things first, plugs, wires, coil pack, fuel filter.

I'm betting:

1) fuel filter
2) fuel pump
3) plug wires

I can see the balancer causing a shake but it should still run, no?

I had the same issue a few months back, exactly the same symptoms.

Harmonic balancer is the culprit here, I'd bet money!

When it happened to me, the car was running great one minute and when I started it 15 minutes later it was shaking BADLY. I called the tow truck immediately and never tried to drive it, so I can't really comment on the stalling. But I would not be surprised one bit if it stalled when you tried to drive it, I can totally see that happening.

The bad plugs and ignition troubles might cause a shake, sure, but if it's shaking VIOLENTLY as you describe, then take a look at replacing the harminic balancer.

Welcome aboard.

Check your motor mounts while you're at it.

So I did a quick tune-up and replaced the fuel filter, wires, rotor, cap, runs a hell of a lot better but still shakes a bit, now I am gonna have to assume my MAF is dirty and a slight Vac leak, we'll see I will keep all of you updated.

Motor mounts should still be good if not I might need a torque spec on the motor mounts. we'll see. xD!!

Don't assume that your motor mounts are good. I thought mine were good until I actually replaced them. Take a look

What the mount looked like when it was in the car

And what they looked like when I took them out

Just by changing the motor and tranny mounts I gained a tenth at the track.

i had a bad vib in my 95 stock motor one day, the balancer was de-laminating and i replaced with a sfi balancer and problem solved, if you have a sudden loss of power like you cant accellerate then the maf might be dirty i had that problem also.

hope this helps
