Does anyone know of an intake that will fit a 95 5.0L and accept a 90mm Lightning MAF?
I am looking at the JLT and suspecting it would work, JLT advertises a big 4" tube at the MAF so I'd be willing to bet that even if it wasn't an out of the box fit there'd be a simple way to fit it. I've got the BBK intake currently and it's not good enough for the future upgrades! The old MAF needs to be replaced and the BBK doesn't seem to fit anything other than the stock MAF. |

I used a WMS cold air kit with a 95mm pro-tube meter that was made for a Terminator on my 90 coupe. I suspect that type of setup will work on your 95, and will likely work with the lightning meter. Give them a call and ask them if it will bolt together.

Thanks for the advice Matthew, I will definitely call WMS and chat with them.
Also FYI on the JLT I mentioned earlier; I spoke with JLT earlier and their intake will accept the 90mm LMAF but requires the MAF Elbow from and 03 Cobra which they can supply. Thanks for the welcome as well! |

Welcome JL. You shouldn't have too much trouble making that setup work. Any pics of your ride?

That's a decent idea, too. No problems with the filter fitting in the fender well? I can't immediately recall how much room is actually in there... But you are using the WMS supplied filter, eh? Just a quick FYI, I called JLT and ordered a 1995 intake with the 03 Cobra MAF elbow. We'll see if it really works when it gets here! I talked to Jay Tucker at JLT and he was a very helpful fellow, so I am sure there will be no troubles. Thumbs up to JLT for great customer service. Last edited by J_L : 07-30-2008 at 7:15 PM. |

I am running the filter that came with the WMS cold air intake. I do have to put the filter on from underneath the car, as it is very close to touching the fender. |

Hey guys ... where did you buy your LMAF's from?
Did you get the adapter ring for the air filter also? Where did you get the connectors to wire it up to your EEC-IV? The male EEC-V connector should be easy to find at a salvage yard, but where to find the female EEC-IV connector? I would prefer not to cut the harness, but I have no good explanation as to why .... I got mine here Ford Mustang/Lightning 90mm MAF & CNC Adapter - $99.95 : Lightning Force Performance with the adapter ring, great guys to deal with and an excellent price on that MAF. Also regarding the very first post, the JLT intake that I bought for my 96 Cobra came sized for the 90mm MAF and also included a reducer for the smaller stock MAF, not sure if yours will be the same though. |

Got my LMAF form the Mustang Shop in Calgary. Did not need the adapter ring because of the WMS CAI. I got the harness from a wrecker and spliced it into the original harness. This was all I needed, not sure why you need a female connector? |

Hey waren, everything I needed I bought from the Mustang Shop in Calgary.
The LMAF, adapter ring, and the EEC-V pigtails. So to install the MAF with these components you'd need to cut the original MAF connector out and solder the wires together for the new connector. If you've never soldered before, it's super easy and shouldn't scare you away from trying it. A little soldering iron is literally $10 from Canadian Tire and rosin core solder is like $7. Buying the solder is easy too, the stuff from Canadian Tire specifically says Electrical Solder (which is the rosin core solder you'll want), so it's really easy to buy! A little spool of wire just to practice on wouldn't be a bad idea either if you want to try it out first, which again is just a few $$ at Crappy Tire. All my MAF stuff is fitted to a 95 Mustang GT CAI from JLT, who I called and requested that an 03 Cobra MAF elbow be used instead if the standard one. Everything fits together great! I have seen the adapters you're talking about, the ones with the female connectors. Originally I wanted one of these as well, just for the sake of a clean looking install, but I actually got sick of trying to find a place to buy one! But! If the wires are soldered together, wrap the soldered wires in some heat shrink tubing, and I think you can create an even cleaner looking install than what the adapter will give you. |

Hey guys thanks for posting! Its cool to know how the locals do it.
And 94/95 specific even. I feel like I have come "home". What maf transfer function did you guys use in your tune? Any additional tweaking required? I will check it out, but what was the price paid at the mustang shop? I will also check out the online link, I found that place before on google, cool to have a good reference for them. I wonder if they ship usps, no brokerage. |
