Just roughly speaking, the MAF was $90, EEC-V harness $20, and the MAF adapter was $50.
The Mustang Shop is actually located in Calgary so you won't have to pay brokerage if you're in Edmonton (and you definitely won't get USPS! ). You will definitely need a tune! Personally I have no idea how to tune a car so I couldn't make any recommendations there, but what I am doing is supplying a parts list to a tuner here in Calgary (Tecmotion, specifically!) and getting a base tune to get the car on the road. So the PCM is pulled from the car, and you take it to the shop and they'll load a tune to get you on the road. Then you'd want to get the car to the dyno as soon as possible for a dyno tune. Professional tuning is not cheap, so doing this just to upgrade the MAF... IMO it's not worth the cost if the car is otherwise stock. Personal choice of course! But the cost will be enormous for like.. 5hp (and zero 'seat of the pants' feel). Just something to ponder! |

Dude, those are close to ebay prices, I will be calling them tomorrow. A thanks for the tip. I hate the stress of waiting for the mail, wondering if I have been screwed or not. Actually, I can burn my own chip, so the tune isn't an issue. And with my current combo I don't expect any addition power, just want to grab one while they are cheap and plentiful. I am slowly pulling parts together for a new motor. |

Thanks for the primer on splicing in the connector. I have done a ton of soldering. And I could do a respectable job, I just don't like doing things I can't undo quickly........ But I also don't want to drop 50 on an adapter. Ok you sold me, it probably will look cleaner, I will keep the old maf/plug just in case.
