Surging Idle

When I start the car in the morning the idle surges from ~500-1500 RPM. After a couple of minutes it smoothes out and runs at 800 RPM. The problem is worse after you shut the car off and come back a few minutes later (like running to the store), the idle surges alot worse and will somtimes stall. I think it is the idle air solenoid, any thoughts?

This is a common problem it seems, I would first try cleaning the IAC motor and see what happens. I sometimes had this problem with mine, I just stabbed the throttle and it went away.

I don't have enough posts to put the address on here but go to sn95forums.com, to 94-95 tech and there is a sticky on this called "Fixing your surging idle"

Is the car chip tuned? Sounds like the fuelling is out of whack, and hence the hunt till you hit closed loop.

I did the idle reset procedure the was posted by Fox Master awhile ago (of course now i can't find the thread). This seems to have fixed the problem. But I have not run it enough to know for sure. Will keep you guys posted.
