Is replacing the driveshaft worthwhile?

Sorry I have a bunch of questions starting on the forum. Just wondering if anyone has replaced the stock two piece driveshaft with a light weight one piece? I have heard stories of hp gain, smoother ride, and no vibe at high speeds. I have not priced this out in Canada but I am guessing 600-800$ and the question at the end of the day is, is it worth it or is there something better worth spending the money on.

Thanks!
Kris

I'll be replacing mine this year - it's going to cost $800cdn for the new one. There isn't an actual gain in HP, just less rotating mass for the motor to spin so it feels like more power.

As for is it worth it - I guess that depends on what you plan on doing. Mine is almost a neccesity as the stock piece isn't likely to hold up too well to the extra power coming to my ride....I guess it might hold up but I'd rather spend the money on making sure than risk the stock one emerging from the centre console.

I had a carbon fiber one on my Cobra from PST and it was great. Not cheap but definatley a seat of the pants increase in power.
It will help your RWHP numbers.

Ive already had my stock one replaced under warranty once. I would definitely recommend getting a one piece driveshaft if its in the budget.

I do not see any crazy hp projects for me this year, not to say it will never come. But my main reason for pursuing this upgrade is the vibration at higher speeds. The increase is usable power is surtenly a motivating factor and improved feel of driving.
I guess the only question left is where to buy if anyone knows deals in Canada or Ontario.
I will call PST and see about pricing and maybe even the carbon one if it is not crazy $$$$ also I have heard good things about shaftmaster.

Thanks
Kris

+1 for DaSilva Racing. I had an Axel Exchange aluminum drive shaft installed along with 4.10's three weeks ago and I am very pleased with the mods and the quality of work/service from DaSilva Racing.
