I have nothing to add regarding the eibach kit but I have the Ford Racing FR3 handling package installed in my 06 GT.
I would suggest considering that as well. I also have an edelbrock adjustable PanHard Bar. The complete suspension kit is about $1400 and the panhard bar was $150 I think. 5 hours for install and a 4 wheel alignment. Thats all she wrote. I'm sure the eibach kit works just fine as well though. Something else to consider: It looks to me like the Eibach kit does not come with a strut tower brace. This is included in the Ford Racing kit.

If you do a spring kit follow it up with dampers as a lowering kit will kill your stock shocks and struts quickly. I have the pro kit with Tokico HP's and it handles very well, race car like but the non adjustable HP dampers will kill the kidneys as they are frigging stiff. If I did it again I would go with the Tokico D specs for a low cost adjustable solution.

Did you look at H&R Springs??
I think they make a lil better product H&R Special Springs, LP Just my 2 cents.... |

The thing is I am trying to do a bunch of mods and the cost really plays a factor, the H&R spring look to be really high quality however the price matches.
The FRPP FR3 Handling Pack is also more money but I do see the strut tower brace is included but does not clear the engine cover... I have seen some aftermarket one that will and at the end of the day still cheaper than the FRPP FR3 Handling Pack. What worries me is that there has been great feedback on the FR3 and nothing on the eibach... is it not very popular or very poor quality? Or bad history of the company. Thanks for the replies Kris |

I know the springs are top notch but know nothing of the dampers. I have an frpp brace if you are interested. Talk to Matt at DaSilva racing they are Eibach dealers in Pickering I think.

Pretty much personal preference when it comes to the mods you put on your ride... I'm partial to the fit and finish of a lot of the FRPP stuff, so that's where the mod money goes. I'd tend to agree with DutchGun - no slam on Eibach in the least.

When you say dampers, sorry for my ignorance, do you mean shocks and struts or is it something over and beyond that? As for the brace I would be interested, what is the part number? Does in go over the engine cover or does the cover have to be removed? Anyone, thanks for the info. DaSilva racing have been recommended to me a number of times now and ill be should to head their way maybe today Thx kris |

Just one other thing... Its not totally necessary, but you're going to want an adjustable PanHard bar when you do the suspension. Its not overly expensive and would be best to get it at the same time.

I will be sure to look into it, if you would not mind explaining what that is and the function of it... just so I kind of know when asking for pricing. Just hate being caught with my pants down at the shops lol |

Readers Digest version of the Panhard Bar is that it centers the rear axle on a side to side axis to maintain driveline geometry. The S197 unit is a fixed length attached to the frame at one end, and to the rear axle assembley on the other.....as you drop the suspension, that fixed length can cause the rear axle to shift slightly. With an adjustable panhard you can compensate for that shift. If I'm wrong or mis-informed, I'm sure someone with more in-depth knowledge will correct me.
Personal opinion here, but I didn't change out the panhard bar when I had the FR3 installed on my 'vert, with no adverse effect on the orientation of the rear end. ( I can see all my tranny jokes coming back to haunt me with a statement like that lol) That being said, DutchGun is once again on the money - it would be a good idea to do it while you're at it with shocks and springs.Another point to consider is doing the panhard bar brace as well - the factory S197 brace is pretty flimsy looking, just stamped steel. I'm considering doing the lower control arms, upper control arm, panhard bar and panhard brace all in one shot. I'm liking BMR Fabrication stuff, but still undecided. (sigh) So many mods.....so little dollars!! Last edited by GT4MT; 02-10-2010 at 8:57 AM. |

Dampers = shocks and struts. Brace is a M-20201-F which will go over the cover. It is made for a V6 which the intake manifold is quite high on compared to the GT.
